Many times I would sit or stand on my porch as a child and stare at the stars. I would think about my science classes and wonder if an astronaut was looking down at me. I would also think about the scene in The Lion King, where Mufasa tells his son Simba that the stars are fallen kings that will always be looking down at him.
Stargazing is a fun activity for me and probably one of the few times my school assignments were pure fun. I’ve made many wishes on falling stars through the years, but come to think of it, many of those wishes have not come true.
This could be because of the law of attraction. I keep “wishing” for something to happen instead of focusing on that idea as here and now. But that’s okay. Most of my wishes on stars are far fetched ideas. Like, “I wish I could have wings like Thumbelina!” I would be in a freak show if that wish came true.
Here is list of things I wish for in the next year:
1. Health — If I don’t have my health, I cannot do the things I enjoy. I enjoy sports as well, so there is always a chance that I could get injured. I hope that I stay healthy and fully recover from past injuries.
2. Stability — I’m still trying to figure out that I am doing with my life. I would like to get something concrete going. Many times in my life, I have decided to do something and worked towards a goal. Many times, that goal has not worked out. I would like for my goals to pan out.
3. Happiness — I have had some trials and tribulations in my life. I am working towards being content with the cards I have been given.
4. Friends — I have some really good friends I try to keep in touch with. But texting and social media just isn’t the same as hanging out together. I hope to have more contact in person with my friends. If only we didn’t have jobs that got in the way with socializing.
Star light, star bright,
First star I see tonight,
I wish I may, I wish I might,
Have this wish I wish tonight.
